National Alliance of Gang Investigators Associations
MARGIN is one of the founding fathers of the NAGIA, and serves on the Board of Directors of this new national organization. NAGIA is an national alliance of gang investigator associations from across the country, and with an extensive advisory board that includes the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, National Drug Intelligence Center, Office of National Drug Control Policy and the Regional Information Sharing System. This alliance supports the efforts of gang investigators' associations as well as federal, state and local anti-gang initiatives.
The goals of NAGIA are to:
· Recommend standard gang definitions
· Serve as a collective "voice" for all gang investigator associations
· Encourage state/federal legislation pertaining to gang crimes
· Enhance national gang information exchange
· National gang threat assessment
· Identify and assist with the development of other gang networks / associations
